Emergent + Empowered: Mobilizing Global Popular Transportation Networks for Equity, Health and Climate
With the support of the Rockefeller Foundation, Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF), Columbia University’s Climate School’s Center for Sustainable Urban Development, and the Partnership for Research on Informal and Shared Mobility (PRISM), GNPT hosted Emergent + Empowered: Mobilizing Global Popular Transportation Networks for Equity, Health and Climate, a convening with key stakeholders and leaders representing transport workers and labor organizers, multilateral development banks, climate funders, global transport and/or climate NGOs, and research institutions to draft a global call to action, strategy and research agenda for popular transportation. This ambitious global campaign seeks to enable systems change through the articulation with different stakeholders and leveraging support in different action areas for the recognition, integration and improvement of popular transport services.
